Shiv Vikram Khemka is Director of SUN Group, a significant foreign investor in emerging markets including India, Russia and the former Soviet Union. One of the Group’s principal investments in Russia has been SUN Interbrew, a partnership formed in 1999 between SUN Brewing and Interbrew for Russia and Ukraine. SUN Interbrew is one of the largest brewing operations in the region with about 20% of the combined Russian-Ukrainian market. SUN recently restructured its investment in SUN Interbrew by swapping its shares into Inbev shares. SUN Group is an invited member of the Russian Prime Minister’s Foreign Investment Advisory Council (FIAC). The Group is also active in Private Equity,Venture Capital and the Natural Resources and Energy businesses.

Mr. Khemka was born in Delhi and later studied in England, where he attended Eton College. Following his graduation from Brown University with a BA in Economics in 1985, he worked for 3 years overseeing his family’s business interests in Brazil. He received his MBA with distinction from the Wharton School of Business and a Master’s Degree in International Studies and Portuguese from the Lauder Institute in 1990.

Nominated a Global Leader for Tomorrow at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 1997, Mr. Khemka was invited to join the Russian Prime Minister’s Foreign Business Leaders’ Council for Russia at the WEF. He serves on the EMEA Board of Wharton Business School and on the Board of Governors of the Lauder Institute. He is a board member of the Eurasia Group in New York and is on the Visiting Committee of the Davis Center for Russian Studies at Harvard University. He was recently elected as a Board Member for the International Crisis Group (ICG).
