Ricardo Zabala

Currently Mr. Zabala is a Board Member of AFP Habitat, one of the chilean pension funds administrator companies. Also he works as an independent consultant.

Previously, from 1992 util 2004, he worked for Citigroup developing retirement products worldwide. Between 1992 and 1997 he was Director of Pension & Insurance Products for Latin America. From 1997 to 1999 he served as Managing Director of Pension & Insurance Products for Emerging Markets. He expanded his responsabilities to cover Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.During this period the product offering was expanded and new companies were put in operations in Paraguay (1998), Poland (1998), Panama (1998), Chek Repubilc (1999) and Republica Domicana (1999).

Afterwards, from 1999 to 2004, he worked as Managing Director for Emerging Markets, Global Retirement Services. Citigroup in 1999, created a global unit to manage retirement products. During these years, operations were set up in Hong Kong (2000), Malaysia (2000), Costa Rica (2001) and Brazil (2002).

Mr. Zabala holds a Ph.D and an M.A on Economics from Duke University, North Carolina - U.S.A.
